CF Pathways – Mentoring Program
CF Pathways is CFSA’s peer-mentoring program that matches people living with cystic fibrosis with trained mentors who share firsthand experience of the condition. Delivered via the Pushfar platform, the program provides tailored guidance on areas such as career planning, financial management and emotional wellbeing as members navigate life stages in the era of life-extending CF therapies. CF Pathways fosters community connection, resilience and practical support for those living with CF.
Meet our Mentors
Meet our Mentor:
Hi, I’m Glenys – I’m living well with cystic fibrosis after receiving a double lung transplant in 2017. I’m also a proud grandmother, and I bring both lived experience and professional insight to my role as a CF Pathways mentor.
With a 38-year background in nursing, I’m passionate about patient-centred care and understand how the medical system works from both sides. I value confidentiality and respect, and I know how important it is to feel supported — whether you’re navigating daily CF management, preparing for hospital, or facing transplant decisions.
I’m a confident communicator and regularly share my CF and DonateLife journey with community groups and hospital staff across Adelaide, including nurses in ICU, theatres, and emergency departments.
As a mentor, I’m here to offer practical advice, a listening ear, and encouragement to anyone needing support — whether you’re living with CF or caring for someone who is. I also believe in staying active and connected — I walk twice a week with a wonderful group, and truly believe that life can be full and joyful with the right support.
Looking forward to walking alongside you.
Meet our Mentor:
Hi, I’m Kyle — I’m living with cystic fibrosis and I’m also a proud parent. Becoming a dad was a big milestone for me, and my partner and I went through the IVF journey to make it happen. I know firsthand the emotional and practical challenges involved in family planning with CF, and I’m here to share that experience with others who may be walking a similar path.
I’m passionate about health, fitness, and mindset. I’ve taken on physical challenges like trail running and mountain hikes to push myself and to show what’s possible when you live with CF — physically and mentally. I believe in setting goals, staying active, and finding strength through community and connection.
As a mentor, I can offer support to others living with CF — especially those thinking about starting a family, juggling parenthood, or looking to focus on their wellbeing. Whether you’re navigating IVF, planning for the future, or just need someone to talk to who gets it, I’m here.
Living with CF comes with its challenges, but with the right support, there’s so much that’s possible.
Meet our Mentor:
Hi, I’m Zoi — a proud mum of a child living with cystic fibrosis and a mentor with CF Pathways.
Over the years, I’ve navigated the ups and downs of CF, including juggling school, extracurricular activities, and regular hospital stays. I understand how overwhelming it can feel at times, and I’m here to share what I’ve learned along the way.
From working with schools to manage absences and treatment needs, to helping your child stay involved in sports or hobbies, I’ve picked up plenty of tips. I also know the hospital drill — what to pack, how to keep things as normal as possible, and how to look after yourself too.
If you’re a parent looking for support or just someone to talk to who gets it, I’m here to help however I can.
